What the Kara Ada charter is

It is the day charter's island route, priced as its own trip: six hours, €1,750 per trip. That is the €1,500 day charter plus a €250 island supplement, which covers the longer run up to Ildır Bay. The day is built around anchoring off Kara Ada, swimming and snorkelling stops, and lunch cooked on board.

What makes Ildır Bay different

Ildır is the shoreline of ancient Erythrai, and the bay is scattered with islands. It is markedly quieter than the coves south of Çeşme. Kara Ada is one of those islands: a sheltered anchorage, clear water and a stretch of coast that stays calm even on a summer weekend. The day is built around swimming, snorkelling and a long lunch on board.

Wind and the alternative route

Ildır Bay is open to the north, so when the meltemi blows hard from the northeast the captain turns south to the sheltered coves on the Aya Yorgi and Hacettepe stretch. The length of the charter does not change — the coves do. If Kara Ada is the reason you are booking, say so on the request and we will pick the date around the forecast together. A weather cancellation moves your date free of charge.

The boat and the price

An Aquila 42 powerjet catamaran, winner at the Yacht Style Awards 2024. The Kara Ada charter is €1,750 per trip for six hours. The same six hours without the island run is the standard day charter at €1,500; if you would rather stay put in one cove, hourly hire is €250 an hour with a two-hour minimum. Captain and crew, fuel, harbour fees and cruising permits are included in all three, and the Kara Ada charter adds lunch and drinks.

Kara Ada boat tour questions

What does the Kara Ada charter cost?

€1,750 per trip for six hours — the €1,500 day charter plus a €250 island supplement, with lunch and drinks included.

How is it different from the day charter?

The route. The day charter calls at three coves around Çeşme; the Kara Ada charter runs north into Ildır Bay to the coves off Kara Ada. Both are six hours, and the difference is €250.

Are we guaranteed to reach Kara Ada?

The captain sets the route on the day from the wind and sea state, and Ildır Bay is open to the north, so a hard meltemi can send us to the sheltered southern coves instead. A weather cancellation moves your date free of charge.

Do we board at Ildır?

No. Every charter leaves from and returns to the Hacettepe Cove jetty in Çeşme. Ildır Bay is the northern end of the island route.

Is the price per person?

Per charter. The Kara Ada trip is €1,750 whether you are four guests or eight.

Can we stay in one cove instead?

That is what the hourly charter is for — we anchor where you choose and stay there for two hours or more, at €250 an hour.
